Followers of Jesus should not be idle but should imitate his self-giving love by working hard so they provide for themselves and benefit others.
Since Isaiah and Daniel, evil rulers rebelled against God and exalted themselves above Him. Jesus will return to confront evil perpetrators and deliver His people.
When Jesus returns, he will bring final justice to those who persecute believers. They will experience relational distance from God their creator, the ultimate tragedy.

Paul prays for God to permeate the believers' lives with holiness and to set them apart, completely devoted and blameless until King Jesus' return.
Believers are challenged to live lives consistent with Jesus' teachings as they remain holy, sexually pure, loving, serving, faithful, hopeful and expectant for Jesus' return.
